A Legacy More Than Half a Century in the Making

Some businesses come and go. West Linn Hairport has been here since before most of us can remember and it's not slowing down anytime soon.

The story begins in the early 1970s, when barber Dave Bailey opened a modest barbershop that would plant roots deep in this community. In 1975, Cheryl Keicher purchased the shop and transformed it into a full-service salon for women and families. What followed was five decades of dedication, craft, and mentorship. Cheryl made it her mission to hire from local beauty schools and educate the next generation of stylists in the art and science of hair design  turning West Linn Hairport into something far greater than a salon. It became a launching pad for careers and a cornerstone of the community.

In 1990, Cheryl merged the salon with Melenee Hair Design and moved to the Robinwood Shopping Center, where it would serve West Linn families for decades more.

After 50 years of leadership, Cheryl passed the torch in November 2025 to new owners Sarah and Jayson and in March 2026, the salon found a new home in the vibrant Willamette neighborhood. But here's what makes this transition truly special: Cheryl never left. She continues to serve her longtime clients at West Linn Hairport and remains actively involved in training and developing the next wave of stylists, ensuring her legacy of excellence lives on in this exciting new chapter.
